Skip Counting Numbers

There are so many ways to learn skip counting. Countless videos, songs, legos (we did this for a short period of time ), sticks, rocks, acorns, really, anything you can get your hands on to count!

We began skip counting as early as Kindergarten! We introduce gently and then eventually, we learn to skip count with coins, etc. For me, it has always been somewhat difficult to retain the skip counting with my children.

Rod and Staff offers a 100 Chart as well as Memoria Press does and we have used that as well and also this handy pocket of 100 numbers. When we used the pocket chart, we always made the number we were skipping to red so that it was easier to recite together and see where on the 100 chart it would be.

I have also bought a large sketch paper, painted large numbers, and wrote in the skip counting for each set of numbers. It became cumbersome because we had such a small space in our dining room as a school room and eventually, it ended up torn and on the floor with everyone stepping on it!

This year, I wanted to make some numbers the same way, but simpler and more colorful. So I created a number set from 2 to 9. I also cut OUT the numbers! And that was a game changer. It really made the numbers pop out more. These can be laminated and are a lot of fun to do with the kids. I still make silly songs, even if they are not requested because that's what moms do!

If you would like this set, go to this link, download and I hope you find them helpful in your homeschool journey! Let me know how they work out and if your kids like them! Happy skip counting!
